Anna Afonso is a fashion designer, visual artist and educator. Situated at the intersection of design, art and material culture, Anna's practice investigates the relationships between matter, memory and identity through upcycling and textile experimentation.

Existing objects and materials form the starting point for a process in which their histories, traces and physical properties contribute to the development of the concept. Transformation emerges through this dialogue, reconfiguring forms and meanings without erasing traces of what came before. Between permanence and change, this practice opens up new narratives and possibilities for relationships between body, object and memory.
